Hey, so I recently upgraded my Laptops Ram from 8gb to 16gb. For the first 5 Hours, everything ran like butter, I finally got to play some games at faster speeds. The problem occurred when I was watching a movie on Disney+, and my

Laptop just froze. No mouse movement, or anything. I tried closing the laptop, and opening it, and usually it would've gone into sleep mode, and put me back into my log in screen. However, it opened right up to the movie frame it froze on. I restarted the PC and it started alright, but upon trying to watch the movie, it froze again. That was last night, and today I was playing Mordhau, and it froze once more, and now I'm kinda tired of it. Please help out.

Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80ghz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb VRAM

HP 8259 83.48 Motherboard

Crucial tech 16gb DDR4 Dual Rank    Single Stick     (What I upgraded to)

My last stick of ram was a Kingston 8GB 260 pin laptop memory. I don't know much else. I'm pretty sure the Kingston ran at a higher frequency, if only like 60 MHZ difference, but I don't see how that could cause it.

Clean it, plug it properly, use memtest86 to test the memory integrity.

if fails, return it asap.

some new memory sticks are DOA. Rare but it happens.
