Worth the upgrade?

I'm making a mediapc for my TV, 1080p YouTube and sometimes I'll play wow(low settings) on the couch. 

It's an old office prebuilt, costs only 25 euro. Will add GTX 650 1GB card as well, found one for 20euro. And I found an older 128 ssd for 20 euro

There is an advert for Quad 6600 which is the same socket for 12 euro. 

Is the CPU upgrade worth it? Will I gain anything? As mentioned, just YouTube and WoW

Any suggestions besides CPU choicr are also welcome

P. S Should I upgrade the Ram?

A friend did a silimair upgrade you think of doing right now.

He thought it was well worth it and he even paid 25€ for it.

 

So i think its a no brainer for you to go for it.

Oh, and I forgot to ask, the prebuilt comes with 280w psu, will it be enough for the build?

It should be DDR, so 800MHz if Im not mistaken.

 

But Im not sure about the PSU.

280W seems kinda low to me, since the Q6600 alone is rated as a 105W tdp. I know those are not really representative, but still.

Also it might be that your motherboard is not rated for a 105W tdp chip.

I experienced that when I upgraded from an Athlon to a Phenom 955 black edition. My motherboard throttled the clocks to 800MHz, had to undervolt and clock it to not overload the board.

There is another listing for a complete system for total of 100 eur  which is more expensive, perhaps it would be a better choice?

You might be able to find a hd 7850 for the same ammount. Which would be a decent bump in performance.

Depends on the connectors. The rail configuration and model.

Google your motherboards model and see if you can find anything about CPU tdp ratings.

 

But the other build you posted looks better. Maybe go for that if you want to save yourself some headache upgrading your PC

l-iq45 antelope is the model, but I can't seem to find any info on tdp
