Gtx 1060 multi-gpu's not working

I installed a second gtx 1060 card into my computer and it doesn't seem to be getting used.  It was an extra card.  My computer specs are in the pics attached.  I have msi afterbuner installed to monitor the gpu usage for both gpu1 and gpu2.  The original intent was to boost the fps for Fortnite.  However, only gpu 1 is being used.  dx12 is selected in fortnite.  I also downloaded elemental demo dx12, and only gpu 1 is being used.  The Nvidia control panel does not have the option for multi gpu's - as some sites suggest.  It does register a temp, but not gpu usage.   The fan is working.  Also it shows up in task manager and in the Nvidia control panel under PhysX.

 

Any suggestions on how to enable it?  New to posting so any help is greatly appreciated.  

 

 

Also, i know the montiors cap at 75 hrz, but i do have a 144 hrz monitor i will use once i get it working.

The GTX 1060 doesn't support SLI. The only way to get it to work would be a game that supports explicit multi-GPU in DX 12. Ashes of the Singularity would be the one game the does this that I can think of.

I was under the impersion that fortnite did support with the latest updates and dx12. Also the benchmark demo indicated it supported dx12 and multi gpu's.

I could find some older patch notes that mention DirectX 12 support being added, but I can't seem to find anything about "explicit multi-GPU" support. Using DX 12 doesn't mean the game automatically supports explicit multi-GPU. That is something that has to be specifically added/supported by developers.

 

You might have better luck with a GPU that supports SLI (1070 and up) since that does seem to be supported by Fortnite.
