PSU choice

Coastax

Hi everyone, so I'm building my new AMD system recently and I found a Corsair TX850M on Craigslist which claimed to be BNIB from RMA and costs $100, meanwhile I did some research showing this unit has some high fail rates. Then I was recommended the Seasonic Focus GX-650 which will be $147 tax and shipping included.

Which one should I go for? Or is there other model recommended?

Thanks!

Part List

CPU: 3700X

GPU: 5700XT Red Devil

Cooler: stock (I know but I don't want to do oc just now)

MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 Gaming Plus

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 3200 8G*2

SSD: WD SN750 1TB

Hello,

It's a good PSU but overpriced, see if you can get a RMx for less for example, Phanteks AMP or Bitfenix Formula Gold/Whisper M.

Don't get that motherboard it's an awful one, get the Asus Prime-P or TUF.

Get 3600MHz CL16 ram if you can.

Thanks for the advice, but from pcpartpicker both PSU you mentioned are more expensive than the seasonic focus 650W.

For the mobo is it this one? I think your Asus tuf is the same one as mine mentioned.

As for memory, since it's on sale for less than $90 on newegg (grey one cost $84.99) when I purchased them, I think it's worth it.

Yes it is the good board.

Though since you are in CAD, 147CAD is a good price for the GX 650W.

Oh the ram are already bought then :P

My fault not mentioning it's in CAD, sorry.

And how do you think about the TX-850M? Is it a good PSU?

It's a good PSU too but I wouldn't trust a PSU that went throug RMA or second handed.

The GX is tad better too even though it's more expensive.
