800 USD Gaming Build

MattTheMayor

My friend wants me to build him a PC but I've been out of the whole PC niche for a fat minute so I need help. He wants to spend 800USD on just the tower. He plans on solely gaming (I know he's an ARK lover but I'm pretty sure he's going to be playing a lot more intensive games as well. He also wants to be able to play on a 144hz monitor.

I would get a name brand sata m.2 for slightly more, and get better than a 5600XT the RTX 2060 at $300 is a good deal.

So Crucial isn't a name brand? And why M.2 over regular SATA?

Do you mean a NVMe drive?

If not, there is no point of going with a m.2 drive.

Also, what are the name brands? I am terrible at SSDs.

Also, why a 5600xt, when rx5700 is available for under $300.

While the 3600 is a great unit, really there is no huge loss in dialing back to the VERY well priced Ryzen 5 1600AF on Amazon. (~$85)

This opens up the board for something like a 5700XT or a really well cooled 2060 Super.
