GPU Passthrough Nightmare

I run a 2nd gen Ryzen system without an integrated GPU, I use ubuntu as my host and I run windows 10 via gpu passthrough on my guest RX590 without flaw. The moment however that I attempt to use windows 7 either using bios of uefi. Without fail I always get a code 12 error for one reason is another. Is this a known issue and is there a way around this?

no idea, but a stupid question, if Windows 10 works why switch to the insecure ancient mess that is 7?
