iCue driver issues Windows 10??

I've been trying to find a solution to my laptop randomly freezing up mid task or stuck on a black screen at boot which never reaches the login screen. After a random freeze up there is no way to escape the crash other than to hold down power button and shut off the laptop and reboot. 

I think I've narrowed it down to possible driver issue with iCue software for my M65 Pro gaming mouse. I originally thought it was a windows update issue because it seemed to happen around the major update a couple months ago. But....... Without going into great detail (for now) I uninstalled the iCue software and problem seems to be past tense?? 

Anyone else have this issue with Corsair iCue software?? Or am spiralling down the wrong hole??
