Ok I have an Asus P8Z77-V Premium board and I am having issues with the Marvell 9230 SATA chipset. I am using all of the INTEL ICH10R ports so using them is not an option. I have 1 TB drive plugged into the Marvell interface and one Bluray player. I get click n popping constantly while playing audio. I ran DPC Latency Checker to test and was able confirm that the Marvell chipset was indeed the issue.

I am guessing it is a driver issue? I am sure many other P8Z77-V boards use this chipset. But if I go and download the drivers all that will install is the "Marvell Console". There is an i386 etc folder with INF files for the driver. But when I browse Device Manager there is no way to tell which ports are INTEL and which ones are Marvell. So I dont know which one to update with the Marvell driver.

I've updated every other driver I can to resolve this issue. Strange that a SATA chipset would cause major latency issues on the "audio bus". Because this click n pop issue also happens via USB audio! Not just Realtek. So it has to be in software somewhere?

Thank you

Vilties.

Well I just unplugged the Blu-ray drive and everything is working perfectly. I MIGHT have guessed that optical drives may not work with a Marvell controller. But that is really kinda stupid. As this Marvell 9230 controller only supports RAID 0/1/10 etc. Not even 5! People would generally want to say Intel ports for RAID etc. So I will update the drivers and see if that resolves the click n pop issue.
