Thanks, I appreciate your help! Hopefully I get everything squared away, and hey man, if it all works out, I'll make sure to thank you on my first stream haha

I currently have a GTX 1070 with an i5, it was a pre-built that I bought about 2 1/2 years ago. I want to get into streaming, but I'm not sure if my PC can even handle it. I tried streaming on discord for my friend because we had a full lobby, but it felt like it was struggling. Should I buy a new processor and a power supply to match? Does anyone have any kind of guidance or tips? Be patient pls I just got into PC with this first rig and don't know much.

You'll be able to, sure- just not as efficiently as you would on better hardware.

Swapping those parts out though sounds like a good plan. You might as well get a bigger SSD while you're at it.

Can you suggest what I should do and what I could do? The goal is to be able to stream at a minimum of 1080p 60fps

Sorry, should've quoted so I don't cloq the post, but could you suggest what parts would help me stream more efficiently? I want to be able to stream and also save audio/video so that I can use it later i.e. YouTube, Twitch Clips

Only thing I don't want to do is get a new GPU, just because they cost so much right now.

So, stay with me here, what's the difference between AMD and Intel, because I've watched from the sidelines as people tear each other apart debating what's better, would I be changing anything about the layout of my PC? Because I've never jumped into that arena, I'm a little clueless about what goes where and how

They have different architectures and different platforms.

They both process the same information, just do it differently.

AMD is pretty much go to right now because of their price/performance and the added benefit of  an easily upgradable chip by staying on the same socket.

They are really great for multitasking.

Motherboard and everything has the same layout and size- there's standards.

Do you know of any guides for assembly? Or should I look for someone that knows what they're doing? I wanna learn so that in the future I can plug and play, especially when I finally cave and get a new GPU.

There's plenty of build guides on Youtube.

LTT has a bunch, Paul's hardware, JayzTwoCents, etc.
