Hello Hello,

I´m in the market for a new GPU but can´t decide on what to get. At the moment I run a 1050 (yes I know it´s bad) at i´m thinking on getting a 1660 (super or not don´t know) or a 5600 XT.

Don´t know if the price gap between the 1660 and 5600XT is worth the small gain in power. Does my AMD 2700x like a AMD GPU more than a Nvidia?

Any ideas on what to get? If not the 5600xt or 1660 what do you think I should get in that price range?

Maybe even go up a step to the RTX 2060 or the 5700XT

the 5600 XT is a decent step up in performance.

I'd say for your current price range these are some of the best options

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

where are you located? In my country, currently the best bang for buck is Sapphire 5600XT Pulse. Costs less, than a 1660Super GamingX MSI.

It would be nice to know, what are your options :) The 1050 is not bad IMHO, it is just an entry level card, several years old, not up to date. Neither was it intended to be a HC Gamer GPU. Thereby, it cannot be compared to a 1660super or 5600xt. Different niche, different price range.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

5600 XT is a huge gain in performance over 1660. Now vs 1660 Super it's much closer. For 5600 XT, it's about 14% over 1660 Super at 1440p without the BIOS update, or about 25% if your card does support the BIOS update and you install it.

1660 is kind of a crap card that should be avoided. 1660 Super is much better than 1660, at least for US prices.

RX 5600XT definitely. Also, a CPU can't "favour" a graphics card manufacturer. Only games do that sometimes.
