First time overclocking advice.

Hi this is what i have:

- 3900x Stock

- Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wifi)

- Corsair h150i Pro

I have never done this before and i want to learn. I would like to get it to 4300 - 4600 as stable as possible. Does anybody have a guide/stable configuration i can start with without causing any damage?

The way I overclocked my 1600 was by increasing the clock speeds in Ryzen Master until it blackscreened in Cinebench R15.

Then I increased voltage by a little bit until it didn't blackscreen, then increased clockspeed again. Once I found a spot where I was happy, I just stuck the settings from Ryzen Master into my BIOS and the rest is history.

It's probably not the best way to overclock a CPU, but it worked pretty well.

OP make sure you do your research for safe voltages on your chip. I find it unlikely you’ll be able to hit a stable 4.6 and not burn the house down, but I find it way less likely you can hit that at a voltage that doesn’t degrade your chip

Gaming Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x   |  GPU: Asus ROG STRIX 2080 SUPER Advanced (2115Mhz Core | 9251Mhz Memory) |  Motherboard: Asus X570 TUF GAMING-PLUS  |  RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3600MHz 16GB  |  PSU: Corsair RM850x  |  Storage: 1TB ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, 250GB Samsung 840 Evo, 500GB Samsung 840 Evo  |  Cooler: Corsair H115i Pro XT  |  Case: Lian Li PC-O11

Peripherals:

Monitor: LG 34GK950F  |  Sound: Sennheiser HD 598  |  Mic: Blue Yeti  |  Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum  |  Mouse: Logitech G502

Laptop:

Asus ROG Zephryus G15

Ryzen 7 4800HS, GTX1660Ti, 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz, 512GB nVME, 144hz

NAS:

QNAP TS-451

6TB Ironwolf Pro

isnt this what you are getting? considering the other thread you made:

hopefully you take some of the suggestions. even if you want to stick with ATX.

that is probably around the maximum you will get with the 3900x allcore. perhaps slightly more on a per CCX basis.
