I have an Asus mobo with a Realtek onboard sound card.

Since last time I turned my pc on, I don't have sound at all.

I've tried the basics:

Set speakers at Default.

Reinstalled drivers.

Check connectors, etc

PROBLEM IS there's no sound through the speaker jack(green one at the back) and neither when I connect my headphones in the front jack. However, the pc do recognizes them.

I do get sound when I connect the speakers to the monitor (which is connected through HDMI), but it's significantly lower and anoying.

The following image should describe what I'm saying:

You can see "sound bars" are moving, but I can't hear anything.

PLEASE PLEASE I need help , i don't want to format my pc.

Any ideas? thanks in advance

Open Realtek control panel while headphones or speakers are connected. Check that they are correctly configured there and run sound test. If nothing, leave them plugged and reboot. That should fix it. Its Realtek drivers being annoying.
