After installing 1.1.1.1 I noticed many things not running smoothly any more.  I didn't initially pin it on this program but after about a week of running I got message on my phone stating it was overloading my cpu and immediately after uninstalling the app everything started being snappy again.  I have a note 9, 8 gigs of ram variant.  I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.  And maybe a heads up if your phone is slow on even the most basic tasks and you're not sure why.

1.1.1.1 is just a DNS server, how is this causing your PC to slow down? Do you mean your internet connection is slowing down?

Are you tethering your phone to connect to the PC? I have the 1.1.1.1 Cloudeflare on my phone always on but I haven't noticed it slowing down any bit.

My phone displayed a message saying that the app 1.1.1.1 is overloading my cpu.  I uninstalled immediately and my phone instantly started working better.  I dont claim to know the whys that is I'm posting here to learn what I possibly did wrong.  It's not connected to anything currently I'm out on the road.  But. Like I said I've been having probably for a few days now and have been trying to figure it out.  I dont believe I would of ever thought it was 1.1.1.1 until I warned.

And I've never said pc.  It was always cpu which my phone does have.

1.1.1.1 warp is an app for android/apple developed by cloudflare for securing internet connections. I dont have any experience with it, but if it was the legitimate version from the google play store or apple app store, then I dont think it was anything malicious, it probably just doesnt mesh well with your device or carrier.

It was from the play store.  I made the post mostly wondering if I was the only one this happened to.  The only thought I had is I'm a truck driver and have to use multiple apps all the time tracking my location and sending information from my company and the company's I pull loads for.  And I also use it for all my entertainment too. YouTube, podcasts, music etc. So maybe with so much traffic and jumping so many towers across state lines might have been just too much.  I really cant get a better phone.  Maybe slightly.  But I did inform the company on the issue and I do like what they they are doing and hope it gets fixed.  I'm definitely not trying to bash them.

From my experience using 1.1.1.1 over the last week and a half, Warp significantly hurts my phone’s internet performance (iPhone ? although I haven’t seen any issues hardware wise. I still use it as a “VPN” profile for DNS benefits which I do feel are better than without. I would rank the performance as follows:

1.1.1.1 Warp < Default < 1.1.1.1 DNS

You can change whether you’re using Warp or the basic DNS “VPN” Profile in the settings of the 1.1.1.1 app, if you still notice poor performance just delete it. The internet responsiveness gain is not extremely noticeable IMO anyways. Hope I could help in anyway...

I must have jumped realities or something because the op is completely different from what i remember reading, lmao.

wait... no... "Posted yesterday at 04:36 AM" oh, that was drunk civ6 with friends night... yeah i was apparently only reading keywords like dns, cpu overload, and then making assumptions my bad lol.

At the end i could have sworn I posted that I could understand how the app, being what it is and does could cause issues with particular users, carriers, and phone skews, but it appears I never got that far lol and only very poorly worded that. Really should just toggle off my forum connection when its drunk game nights lol.

I cant speak directly about 1.1.1.1, because I have no need for it having a subscription to a vpn with a mobile app already, but from just a cursory search of a few places I can confirm that you're far from alone in having issues with it. quite a few people seem to report issues with latency, poor connection quality, and overall just very sluggish phone performance across the board.

You said CPU. Both a PC and a phone have "CPUs". If you mentioned earlier it was your phone then I wouldn't have asked those questions. Thanks for clarifying though. Perhaps in the future you should put into detail what phone (android/ios) you are using this on because sometimes it ain't obious.

For the record, I do have that same 1.1.1.1 cloudflare warp app and I've never had any problems with it on my android phone.
