Wi-Fi connection is bad in my room

So, since i built this pc 4 years ago i've always been using Wi-Fi never had problems and 3 months ago i started noticing a problem where basically Wi-Fi on my PC was very strange, If i was in a discord call i'd get 70 ping which is normal but when i open a chrome tab it would go to 300, if i open a game it go into the thousands and the internet would be very slow and eventually shut down, so i eventually got an 10 meter ethernet cable from the router to my pc, but i still wanna know what caused this to happen?

Did you move the PC or router, even a little?  Wifi can still get destroyed by building components, like metal piping, bathtubs/closets, etc.  Maybe something moved and now something is blocking the signal?  Or possibly just a driver issue.

 

My buddy's house has 1 wall that effectively stops wifi, all the conduit and piping for the 2nd and 3rd floors run thru it along the stairs, for example.
