which app use asrogauragpudllserver.exe?

Chiyawa

Hi,

This actually weird me out. I don't use any components from Asus, yet this exe file asrogauragpudllserver.exe exist in my OS. Not sure if any of this components uses it.

So this is what I have (which uses RGB):

- Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro WiFi (using RGB Fusion 2.0)

- CoolerMaster MasterFan MF120R ARGB (this one control using motherboard argb header)

- AData XPG Spectrix D41 RAM (control by using XPG software)

- ThermalTake PurePlus 12 (control using TT RGB PLUS software)

- Armaggeddon MKA11R (after 2016) OutEmu Blue RGB mechanical keyboard (control by Armaggeddon software)

- Armaggeddon Starship 3 gaming mouse (also control by Armaggeddon software)

- Armaggeddon Nuke 11 USB Gaming headset (which has no software to control its RGB).

*Graphic card is Gigabyte RX Vega 64 Gaming OC, and has no RGB lighting.

Only CoolerMaster MasterFan and AData XPG Spectrix D41 advertised as Asus Aura compatible.

The thing is, once I endtask the exe, everything still works fine (no RGB blackout or go haywire). I don't see anything that uses the asrogauragpudllserver.exe, though. I can still set the rgb to all my components without issues.

The file is legitimate and signed by AsusTek, located in Program Files (x86)\LightningService\1.00.35.

I couldn't think of any thing else that I owned uses Asus Aura sync.

Its not a part of Aura Sync, its a service provided by Asus to other brands to allow Aura to control non Asus hardware (like your RAM for example). Its perfectly harmless and shouldn't cause you any issues.

If you really want rid of it it should be listed in Add/Remove Software as something like Aura Sync Service.

I can suspect that one of the stuff uses Asus Aura Sync, but the question is which one?

All of them. Its a Windows Service (basically an app that always runs in the background) that allows Aura Sync to control hardware from other manufacturers.

If you don't use Aura Sync at all then you can safely remove it.
