Hello, for some reason my computer started acting very strange yesterday like it saying i'm not connected to the internet yet still being able to watch YouTube for example. things i cant do is download anything, it will download like it normally dose and then just stops at the end and never finishes, I have a strange bug when i click on the networking icon in the taskbar where it only shows airplane mode and a link to network and settings, and finally when i try to use the cortana search it just infinitely loads indicated at the dots that go across the top. i have google all these and tried all different types of solutions i'm hoping to post here to try and get my computer fixed so i can actually use it again.

Hello and welcome.

A quick answer about clicking on the icon and it only showing what it shows.  If you don't have Wifi or if it's disabled then that's all you will see.

If you have internet connection, but Windows says you don't, this is because Windows is unable to ping Microsoft specific server to check if you have internet access or not (yup, that is how it knows, it check periodically or after network change is detected by the network card/chip). So something is blocking access to MS servers.

This also explain why Cortana is not working as well. As for yours downloads, well something is having fun.

Check your security software, if any, network drivers (reinstall them), check the system for malware with Malwarebytes, restart your router.
