Hello everyone!

I have to be thorough in my post.  I do believe I upset r/techsupport with my stuborness.

First of all, let me name off my PC specs  briefly

Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz (PC4-21300) C16 Memory Kit - Black (two)

ASRock AB350M-HDV Socket AM4/AMD B350/DDR4/SATA3&USB3.0/M.2/A&GbE/MicroATX Motherboard

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 128 Bit PCI-E Graphic Card (GV-N1050OC-2GD)

Thermaltake Versa H15 SPCC Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer Chassis CA-1D4-00S1NN-00

... and I have a traditional 2 TB hard drive of some type.

In the past I have been used to my PC occasionally shutting down and not turning on when I press the button.  Sometimes, I try hours later and sometimes days later I press the power button and it comes on again.  I figure maybe it's the power supply, but as long as it works most of the time then I'm okay with it.

Well, the PC shut off and now I can't turn it back on and it's been four whole days.  This is unusual.  There was a rainstorm where the power went out a few times.

I have an APC Surge Protector and the "Protected" light is still on.  I bought it sometime in 2018.  The monitor is functional.  There are lights that come on with the USB peripherals.  There's no acrid smell.  I hope that a power surge did not destroy my hardware.  I really don't think that's what happened here, seeing as this has been an issue with this machine sporadically.

Instead, what I think happened is that my PSU was very slowly dying and showing intermittent issues.  It just happened to die around the time of a rainstorm.  At least that's my theory.

To know for sure I guess I'll have to buy a replacement PSU and test it out.  I live in Hawaii so I can only buy stuff from Amazon really.

I also tried opening the case and making sure every plug is in there snugly the way it's supposed to be.  I have taken out the CMOS battery and popped it back in as well.

Does anyone else have any insights?
