I'm looking to buy a 250GB SSD next week for my laptop... Seeing this this i think i will go for a 840, I really don't think the pro is worth 60euro more...

Anandtech said the life span of one of these was only 7 years, so this is entirely wrong?

The life span is more than 7 years (unless you get a broken one or you write more than 80 gb a day)
