Hey guys,

I received an Echo Dot 3rd gen from a draw at work and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for accessories or cool uses for it.

Right now all I use it for is spotify, alarms, and weather.

Just curious to see what it can do and looking for suggestions.

I hear it is great at data mining your whole life by recording all the time

If that doesn't bother you for whatever reason, I have seen people do interesting projects where they would incorporate it into various things, like a planter or in a clock or other things to make it not easily visible

The Daily Driver:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x  |  EVGA GTX 1070 SC  |  48GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4-3600  | Corsair 750D Case
AsRock X570 Pro 4 mobo

iRacing Sim Rig:

i5-10600k @ 5.0 GHz  |  EVGA GTX 1080ti Hybrid  | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600  |  Corsair Air 540 Case
ASUS Z490-E ROG Strix mobo

This is misleading. If it wasn't listening all the time, it wouldn't function at all.

If you're suggesting that they're recording you 24/7 and uploading it to Amazon for advertising purposes, there's no evidence of any such thing.

MacBook Pro 16 i9-9980HK - Radeon Pro 5500m 8GB - 32GB DDR4 - 2TB NVME

iPhone 12 Mini / Sony WH-1000XM4 / Bose Companion 20

I dont mind the recording so much. It does need to be listening constantly to hear me call it, but even if it does sell my data or use it for advertising etc., i dont care much. It's in my room, and I never have conversations there. I really don't care if amazon hears me playing overwatch that much. plus in general I don't mind more relevant ads anyway.

But yeah, the clock idea sounds pretty cool. maybe I could try 3D printing something? Ill look into it.
