Cooler Master Hyper EVO 212

Corsair Vengance Pro 16GB @ 1600MHz

250GB Samsung 840 EVO

Razer BlackWidow Battlefield 4

Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition

My plan on this is for a decently long lasting PC with only need for small updates and changes here and there, does this look good for a long lasting PC (Min Life Span is 2 full years, Max is 4 full years).

The gpu's are not going to last up to 2 years, at least not playing on full graphic settings

Are you kidding? Well maybe on high but they will still kill at 1080p

1 - Do you need 16Gb of RAM and the i7? If it's for gaming only, a 4670k and 8GB of RAM will do.

2 - Get a 840 EVO instead of the Pro, and even a V300 would do, but since money doesn't seem to be an issue .. :P

3 - Get a single 780Ti instead of two 680s, and get a smaller PSU. ~650W (even less) would do, maybe ~850W so if you plan to SLI someday. 80+ Bronze will do ..

4 - No mechanical keyboard? :P

they're two year old gpu's, and the games are not getting less demanding. So getting 2 680's for SLI won't be future proof, they might run on high or medium settings, but not much more than that

1 - I am leaving a few highly taxing programs on and don't turn my PC off, yes, I know the issues that causes.

2 - Changed to a 250GB Samsung 840 EVO

3 - Also changed, hope it can run dual monitors at 144Hz, I have another version of this with a 860, but it is still 80+ Platinum cause I don't really wanna go change my PSU mch.

4 - I have no idea for a good mechanical keyboard, all I can think of is Razer, but even that is stretching it for me.

BTW I have an AMD version of this, mostly the same build idea but with AMD GPU's instead (1-2 R9 290's from Sapphire or ROG, cause, Logic went out the window)

1 - What issues? My PCs have been on almost 24/7 for years and there's not a single problem, I change them before they have the time to be damaged. Hardware is made to run, not to be turned off. :P

2 - Great choice

3 - Should be fine, more appropriate than the 680s with 2Gb vRam for mutli-monitor setup

4 - What's your budget for that? If you don't want to pay too much, you can get a CM mechanical keyboard for like 60-70$ and it's good quality. ;)

+ what's up with the 1000W 80+ Plat PSU? Overkill and overpriced, you can get away with much cheaper than this and good quality still. (Corsair RM?)

I have a budget limit of 2,500$ for the PC itself, additional 500 for peripherals and cables etc.

I am working as a Community Helper for War Thunder Forums, well, technically not WORK, but a chosen unpaid job, personally just for the lessons it can teach me for PR and some other stuff like that, so I need to have the dual monitors to increase productivity.

2x 680s in SLI will outperform a single 780Ti, so I'm not sure how the Ti is more future proof. If OP intends to SLI 780Ti at any point, it's obviously the better option but if not I don't see what's wrong with the 680s

i don't know where you got that from, but a 780ti outperforms two 680's by a bit. And since the 780 is the fastest GPU on the marked, you have more space for upgrading. If you were to put in a second 780

Here is a new version of the Peripherals list:

Razer DeathAdder (70$)

Razer DeathStalker (80$)

22 V AY410T1 (60$)

SteelSeries Siberia V2 (90$)

Goliathus Extended Mouse Mat (35$) (I have a heavy duty glass desk, but my KB&M doesn't have Rubber on it anywhere, better to be safe)

I also changed to 2133MHz Memory, be in the middle ground, somewhat.

I agree about the room for future upgrading, however if OP never does that then it's a moot point.

Look at some benchmarks, you will see that the 680 SLI will outperform a single 780 Ti

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/766 - 680 SLI

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1072 - 780 Ti

Take BF3 as an example. At 1920x1080 - Ultra Quality + 4x MSAA, the 680s get 138 FPS wheras the Ti gets 120 FPS

Unless the 2133MHz memory is the same price/cheaper than 1600MHz memory, it isn't worth it.

Hmmm at the Timings on the Vengeance Pro versus the non Pro Version 2x8gb 2133mhz need someone with better knowledge but just highlighting it.

Yeah BUT. Who knows what the future holds ( :o)

I mean, if you get 680's then when that is not going to be enough then you would change to a newer card anyways or add a third one into SLI.

3 way SLI is not always possible, and also have kinda bad scaling. There is not MUCH performance increase when you get a third card.

Untitled-29.png

But if you got a 780 ti NOW, then you could get a second one in the future.

It's always best to think like so. "Get one good now (so you can get second one later), than getting two worse ones."
