So, I'm currently planning on starting to buy parts in the next couple days, and I've got a decent idea on what parts I want

1. Budget & Location

My budget is around the $1200 - $1300 USD

2. Aim

Currently, is for some editing, multitasking and gaming

3. Monitors

Currently, I have 2 monitors (one 27" 1080p and a 21" 720p as a secondary), but I'm planning on adding a third 144hz 1080p monitor in the future (and of course, making it my main)

4. Peripherals

I won't be needing new peripherals, but I will be needing windows

5. Why are you upgrading?

upgrading from a pre-build because there's barely room for any upgrades without having to build everything from scratch and I want a computer that's gonna last for a good amount of time and with room for any upgrade.
I also want to do some gaming without my computer choking with 100% CPU usage and RAM usage

P.S.: anyone know some decent 144hz monitors around the $200-$250 USD range?

The cpu has an included cooler that isn't much worse than the 212. If you want a significantly cooler and quieter cpu, invest in a noctua or be quiet or scythe, otherwise, stay with the stock cooler.

The hp drive I linked is much faster than the intel one. Also the memory sweet spot for ryzen 3000 series is 3600MHz. I pick a kit with tighter timings (c16).

The motherboard is roughly the same, but cheaper.

A 550w psu would be enough for your system, i put a 650w one in in case the next gen gpus from nvidia are power hungry.

660p is fine.  Its actually way faster for gaming than most other SSDs when it can use the intel smart caching.  It's a QLC with an SLC cache so it runs about as fast as an SLC drive for gaming and most editing loads.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

I got a question on this, is it worth considering a x570 chipset rather than a b450? was looking at some discussion and b450 is good but they said that x570 has more room for upgrades in case I ever want to go beyond ryzen 5

and does b450 support 16gb sticks of 3600MHz?

A good b450 will work even with a 3900x and definitely supports 16gb sticks. However, we don't know what ryzen 4000 series will bring and it's more likely that it will work better with x570 boards. A year ago, when good x570 boards were $200+, I would have recommended the $100 b450. But now that the very good asus x570 boards are $150 or so, I recommend them for future upgradability.
