Bought a 2x8 kit of G.Skill Trident Z at 3600 speed originally (linked below)

What do I have to look for to make sure a new kit is compatible?

Do I have to have the same timings / voltage / latency / speed, or will anything close work?

The reason I ask is because there are cheaper kits at the same speed but with different timings and such.
