My PC Wont sleep >:(

Go to solution Solved by Karumu,

thanks guys, upgraded to 8.1 which seems to allow me to put it to sleep just need to activate it now ffs ££££

I used to have a similar problem. It was because home sharing was turned on and that can prevent sleep.

this is the command to put it to sleep: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0

make sure you set this too: powercfg -hibernate off

for it to go to sleep instead of hibernating, I would guess it would be a software that it running in the background or in the bios you set it to wake the PC via lan

my command line was actually just what your PC should be doing when you send it to go to sleep and that it actually goes to sleep means, that something is waking it up like a software notification

this here might be of some help: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-fix-computer-keeps-waking.htm
