System thread exception not handled (aoddriver2. Sys)

Throbb

I upgraded a pc which had an rx 470, and an amd a10 7700k and upgraded its motherboard and CPU to a msi b365m-vh pro and an Intel 9400f CPU keeping the hard drive and gpu. I used ddu to uninstall and reinstall all drivers properly. I have the most updated bios for the motherboard.

Since upgrading, the pc has been bsod'ing with the error "system thread exception not handled" pinning the error on aoddriver2.sys. It gets caught in this loop until it is booted into safe mode. Sometimes the pc also appears to not boot to just a black screen. There has also been an instance where it appeared to have gpu artifacting where the game went all checkered and froze the pc. I have reinstalled drivers and don't have amd overdrive installed yet I still have the issue. None of the fixes I have found have worked. I tried replacing the gpu with an older one and the exact issue remained. Plz help.

Thankyou.

Edit: if it boots up, it works perfectly fine even in games.

I dont think I have amd overdrive installed as I can't find any instance of it on the pc anywhere.

While you can generally get away with upgrading from Intel to Intel or AMD to AMD, its not recommended and a particularly bad idea to upgrade from AMD to Intel, vice versa, as you can end up with conflicting drivers/configurations.

A fresh install is highly recommended.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Thanks for the reply. I will do a factory reset but keep files and reply with results.

You can run sysprep, it will remove and redetect your drivers.

It is supported now but was unsupported in the past to use same image for intel and amd systems. It was more about HAL types and power management drivers that existed in windows XP.

See, http://ryandoyle.net/posts/sysprep-single-image-intel-amd-and-uni-multiprocessor-with-windows-xp/

If you run sysprep you should be fine.
