XSPC waterpump exploded

My XSPC water cooler exploded with a loud bang after 4-5 years of use.  The  motor was on fire and black smoke was emitting, before I unpluged the PC.

The whole room smells extremely like burned chemical and I have to replace almost everything.

Probably my whole house would have burned down, if I weren't at home. Now, I don't feel good about leaving the PC on before leaving.

I will contact XSPC for compensation.

looking at how crusty that thing looks, I am going to say its on you and the liquid you used. You dont expect to get a refund on a car that is driven for 5 years on the same oil that was put in the car from factory and you shouldnt expect to get one on this either.

I used distilled water + aqua tuning innovatek protect, and I changed the water every 6-12 months.

why should the water be a problem. All the crusts are from the fire and the pump was completely clean before the fire.

The fire inside the motor caused all this.

it's 5 years old... A lot for a spinny thing that's constantly in contact with water and has to remain tight.
