hi!

i have :

i3-4150 and gigabyte b85m-ds3h-a

iam using windows 10 and i wont to install ubuntu( dual system)  ,but after the first two steps i get this message :

force uefi installation

what i need to do step by step to install ubuntu without losing any data from my pc.

my knowledge is limited and old so this may not be useful:


In which I explain perhaps poorly how I remember things at least used to work for dual boot this may be pre uefi in which case it is useless:

 my memory is that anything not Windows needs a separate space to run in that it can arrange how it likes. Drives can have more than one partition, but windows commonly at least used to grab whole drives as single partitions.  There at least were sometimes ways to shrink windows partitions without affecting their functionality.  Multi boot can (or could) sometimes require 3 or more partitions where you would boot into one partition and it would decide which of the other partitions to boot to.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
