KVM switch only works with basic KB & Mouse.

It says it in the instructions,(mechanical keyboards, gaming mouse, and wireless devices will not work) and it's true. I have a mechanical keyboard, and what's considered a "gaming" mouse, and if I have them both plugged into the switch, only one of them will work.

I pulled a generic mouse, and keyboard out of drawer, plug those in, and they work fine at the same time.

My question is, does anyone have any idea what would cause mechanical keyboards and gaming mouse not to play nice with this KVM switch, and are there any suggestions for a decent keyboard and mouse that should work with it? I read in one of the older reviews that someone plugged their mechanical keyboard into the Switch, and then plugged the mouse into a use hub on their keyboard. Unfortunately my KB doesn't have a usb hub

I believe the kvm actually has it's own onboard controller which detects keyboards and mice. and that controller is very simplistic. It needs that controller to detect when you key in the commands to switch machines.

what you most likely wanted was a very basic passive usb switch so the computer would control the keyboards and mice instead.
