My PC once got in contact with bicarbonate of soda (powder) it was all over the motherboard now I cleaned it coz it did t wanna function properly coz the battery wouldn't even last 30mins ,now it  has shutdown. At first I thought it was my battery but it's not ,what I realised is that there is this slimy part inside which I think it is part of the laptop it's in a small square and the other rectangular shape, there are 2 of them but the other one got finished and I just wiped it off with a cloth ...My questions is ,what can I do and what do you think the problem is ??

is it thermal paste or a thermal pad? is it directly on the cooler touching the CPU?

Probably, all you can do is buy a new one. Maybe next time don't wait before cleaning it, and better yet don't get random stuff smeared on it in the first place.

Do you have a picture of the motherboard?

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Quite sure you just got off the thermal paste. You could try and (First clean it completely ofcourse) apply some thermal paste, Not too much. There's plenty of guides online. I also think your laptop dying after 30 mins is a combination of the 2. Your processor (where that goo was) Is probably getting quite hot. Which will make your cooling go harder. along with a faulty battery could result in bad battery life. I'd try those things before buying a new laptop. But if that doesnt work then it might very well be a good idea to just buy a new 1.
