Installing Elementary Os Problem

Right now I am installing Elementary Os from a usb stick. I put the iso on a usb stick using Rufus and everthing seemed fine. I selected try or install elementary os and then now it is stuck on the loading logo and the error shows for about 10 minutes

gudev-critical **: 21:54:55:096: g_udev_device_has_property: asseration 'G_UDEV_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

Using Cd-Rom mount point /cdrom/

Identifying... {7a lot of numbers and lettters}

scanning disk for index files

After 10 minutes the usb stick boots UBUNTU! Not Elementary OS. I am very confused

Did you use dd mode?

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

This might help: https://geekyshacklebolt.wordpress.com/2019/02/05/a-connection-to-the-bus-cant-be-made-booting-issue-solved/

Which version of Elementary OS are you trying to install? Also, would you be willing to try an Eoan Ermine (Ubuntu 19.10) LiveUSB to check whether or not it is related to your hardware or to your version of Elementary OS?

Could you provide images to clarify what you mean by that exactly? If it is what was depicted in the link above, then it is merely something that the Elementary OS developers did not bother to change to their branding, as Elementary OS is based off of Ubuntu.

I don't think that I ever used dd mode, yet the USBs came out fine. I guess that we should hope that it's just that and not what I wrote.

You should use dd mode, other modes screw up the installation process.

I use Etcher now anyway, so I don't have to worry about that.

All right then, try Eoan Ermine, as I suggested before. Also, try to see if the suggestions in the link I shared above help you.

ubuntu works fine. I didn't install Ubuntu but the only thing that was weird was that live session ubuntu would not use my wifi adapter driver so I couldn't use wifi

dd mode and iso mode does the same thing. I even tried creating the os from different computers using rufus and etcher on both and nothing works. Still get the same error followed by Ubuntu booting

This kind of sounds like your computer is having trouble reading from your installation drive. Have you tried a different one?

Also are you sure you downloaded elementary and not ubuntu?

If Ubuntu is working fine the varify the checksum of the elementary iso. Changes are it ended up corrupt while being downloaded.

Checksums are available on the download page.
