NVidia has annouced that they are going to release the 700series earliest end of May or around the time of Computex. We will be seeing the 780 with the GK110 core , the 770 and 760Ti with GK104 core. How much of a performance boost do you guys think we will get and how will AMD compete against this? Most of us already know that AMD is making more money than NVidia right now thanks to their planning.

So what are you guys thoughts on this?

AMD will continue to push aggressive game bundles & pricing on their 7000 series until they launch their new technology in Q4 (possibly October).

The 770 is a re-badged 680 with 4 GB of RAM as standard @ 400$ it will be more competitive with the 7970. But there are still a few issues with the Kepler architecture, namely the issue with Anti Aliasing & high resolution performance.

So the 7970 will still maintain an edge over the 770 in those regards as well as the aggressive game bundles & the strong overclocking performance.

Selling points for the 770 will be good performance out of the box, 4GB of VRAM, PhysX and the usual strong Nvidia branding. Otherwise the 7970 will still be the more powerful chip.

The 760 Ti is a similar story to the 770, it is a re-badged 670 and thus will be more competitive with the 7950 @ 300$. Although with only 2GB of VRAM, the Anti Aliasing & high resolution performance disparity will be even greater and generally speaking the infamous overclocking potential of the 7950 will help it keep its current performance edge, game bundles might help sweaten the deal as well.

Selling points for the 760 Ti will be the same ones for the 770, good performance out of the box, PhysX & strong branding but without 4GB to flaunt, 2GB for the 760 Ti will have to do.

The GTX 780 on the other hand is a completely different story, it's a much larger chip than what anything AMD has to offer & with unmatched performance comes a new selling point.

How Nvidia chooses to price this card will have a great effect on the consumer mindset.

If Nvidia chooses to be just as extravagant as it was with the Titan pricing, the 780 will be nothing more than Titan's overpriced little brother. However, if the rumored pricing is true (599$) then Nvidia will set a new precedent, and for the first time the Nvidia flag-ship will offer more performance for your hard earned buck than the second best card Nvidia has to offer (770).

Giving you approximately 4.14 CUDA cores per dollar for the 780 @ 599$, while the 770 only offers 3.84 CUDA cores per dollar @ 399$.

I have a feeling that this is not what's going to happen & Nvidia will probably price the card in the 649$-699$ range. After all is said and done, we'll still have to wait to see what Nvidia actually does.

From what I have heard, the Titan was a bit of a scam since it was actually supposed to be the GTX 680 last year. And rebranding their products just makes me lose faith in NVidia. I hope AMD continues to push forward and win the competition against NVidia. And I also hope that maybe NVidia will drop the prices of the cards after AMD releases their 8000 series. Because I really want the next gen stuff without blowing a hole in my wallet

Nvidia's lower range cards are overpriced and crap in performance compared to AMD's solutions. The 700 series would be interesting and seeing how Nvidia will improve the performance in games considering we are slowly starting to game at higher resolutions.

4k monitors are still pretty pricey and the same goes for 1440p monitors. But I hope they make HUGE improvements instead of just rebranding everything

i just bought a gtx titan, im happy with it, they say the 780 will be equiped with 2,4k/2.5k cuda cores witch means it isnt as good as gtx tian, witch in my opinion is a bit shame, cause i expected the 780 to blow the gtx titan i have out of the water. the reason i want the 780 to be better than the titan is simply cause i like the tech to go forward and the titan will be cheaper(so i can do sli!).

nVidia make the next gen better than gtx titan!

The Maxwell flagship will definitely be faster than Titan.
