Hello, currently i want to upgrade my CPU but im not sure if its compatible with my motherboard. im aware of it needing to be the right socket and ram clock speeds. however i know sometimes there is compatibility issues beyond that. so. does anyone know if i will be able to change my cpu from an intel i5 3740s to something like an intel i7 of the same socket and memory speed, such as a intel i7 3770k. my motherboard is a dell special which is why im slightly doubting this is even possible. its the 0XFWHV dell motherboard with the most up to date bios i can get for it(A13) (thanks for anyone who can help)

Since they're both third gen, there wouldn't be much reason why it wouldn't work.

Consider an i7 2600, should be a lot cheaper for the same experience

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
