Mouse making game unplayable?

I have been playing Gears 5 with my wife on my newish system, while the game runs well i am running into an intermittent issue in which i can only turn so far in either direction. It seems like the mouse is being limited as if it was on the desk top and hitting the edges of the screen. Any ideas?
