Which CPU should I get?

If you can afford the i9 9900K then just go with it or be patient as is and only upgrade next year when Intel releases 10nm.

 

The R7 3700X doesn't make sense to you since it games the same as the R5 3600 and you have desire for it to last long and be up to speed with nVidia's next gen.

I need help on which CPU to buy.

My i5-6600k heavily bottlenecks my 2070 Super which is why I want to buy a new CPU.

I also want to upgrade my GPU to a 3080 ti next year, which means that my cpu should be able to handle it at 1440p 144hz.

I exclusively use my PC for gaming.

Currently I'd eighter get an i9-9900k (simply the best),

a Ryzen 7 3700x (cheaper than an i9 without too much performance penalty)

or a Ryzen 5 3600 and upgrade when Ryzen 4xxx comes out.

Which of these options would be the best?
