Windows 10 Installation USB

WickedStarfish

I just created a Windows 10 install usb (not the first time) and i am just wondering if i am able to create a folder on the usb that includes a bunch of program installers (steam, chrome, edge, etc.) so this can be an all in one setup usb rather than having 2 seperate usb drives.

i am unsure however if this will mean that the computer will not detect it as a windows 10 instalation media (i also dont have a spare computer otherwise i would just test it)

I am about to get ready for work, but i will check this post before i start and on my break to respond to anyone if anyone has knowledge on this subject

Before creating the USB Media, make more than one partition out of the USB Stick. Allow one for the games, and one for the Windows 10 Bootable

Yes you can.

There are also other options like installing, installing your programs, then creating an install image which you reset.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

I didnt think about that, that might be a good idea, I'll test it out when I get home

no it will be fine - the partition with the windows installer will be the only bootable one. let it run through it's thing and then use either diskpart or diskmgmt.msc to configure a new partition on the drive where you can put your program installers

when it comes to getting the windows bootable partition off of the disk it doesn't always want to go - so it may be worth getting familiar with diskpart and using the override command to force it to delete the windows installer partition

I'm a tad familiar with it as I needed to use it to remove windows off of a few ssd drives I had that were originally in computers

Not entirely sure what you mean by this (I'm not very knowledgeable on this area though

@Brendan1124 The Windows installation media creation tool will re-partition the usb media.

@WickedStarfish You can use sysprep to remove customization's from a windows install. So you can install programs for example the run sysprep. You then create an image of the os which you can install on a machine. Then when you boot it will be like a new install but with the programs already installed.  https://theitbros.com/sysprep-windows-10-machine-guide/
