RTS game idea.

I don't know if there is already a game like this that I haven't found yet or if there isn't but,

 

I think a good idea for an RTS game would be a mix of RTS and FPS it would be a multiplayer game where there would be one "overmind", the person controlling the mass of units and controlling production, then there would be fps players who play among the mass of units doing ther own thing like completing objectives.

 

I think it would be fun because it could mix FPS and RTS gamers.

 

I see a situation where there would be an fps player who would want help with a certain area then the overmind could just allocate units to that area.

 

It would have to be a team based game, with a lot of communication.

 

Furthermore it would be fun as the rts player fighting in a huge battle.

 

Does anyone else have any opinions on this.

Yeah, I was just about to add that Planetside 2 is pretty much RTS played in first person (except it doesn't have the "commander" part, at least last time I played)

MAG? Don't know much about it except that it holds the record of most players allowed in a server in a shooting game     (If I remember correctly)  

MAG was basically a prototype version of Planetside 2. And Planetside 2 allows the most people in a single match for FPS IIRC. 

You can have squad and platoon commanders in Planetside 2.
