Internet Speed Issues

hey there. I have a issue with my internet speed.....

 

1. I have a gaming rig in my room specs are in the description. I am running the rig off wi fi and have been for almost a year now. I have this netgear adapter can't think of it off the top of my head but it has worked for me. I noticed my skype calls were dropping so I ran a speedtest and I was getting very low speeds. 0.3 mbps down. I am paying for 18 mbps ( at&t  uverse ).I am running over wifi 2 stories up. But the thing is I have had no issues what so ever until a few days ago. So I went to some troubleshooting.

 

 

I first restarted the pc and the wireless adapter, no change. 

 

Second I went and grabbed my fathers HP notebook and ran some speed tests from closer to the router, I got full speeds 18 mbps down and 1.5 mbps up. I went up to my room where my main rig was ran the test, got 16 mbps down 1.2 up. 

 

Any other solutions that I may be missing? My mothers phone has been losing connection with the wifi from her room on her Iphone 4 which never has happened before and my galaxy s4 continually loses connection as well now.

Definitely not your ISP then. Maybe it's the router and the wireless card in your fathers notebook is simply better than every other chip in other devices, hence handling it better.
