What do you need the PC for? What resolution/refresh rate are you going to game at?

The 3700X has the same performance

a 360mm AIO is pretty overkill, a $40 cooler like the Neptwin will do just fine

32Gbs of RAM likely isn't needed, also a bit harder to get it running at higher speeds

The airflow for that case seems poor, should get something with a mesh front like a Fractal Focus G, or MB511/NR400/NR600 from coolermaster. or an H500 if you want 2 200mm RGB fans

The TUF isn't a great RX 5700, if you want a high end silent model go for the Nitro+ or Taichi, whatever is cheaper. Or just overclock a non XT 5700 like the Pulse or Red Dragon

Probably want a 500GB NVME SSD at minimum.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

get 3700x over 3800x

replace asus tuf rx 5700xt for gigabyte gaming oc rx 5700xt

1 ssd only?

I have non-M2 SSDs and HDDs left over from previous generations. Thanks for the 3700x tip. I will look into it. The OC is way out of my price range.

Sorry for the TL;DR

I am building a budget, but decent gaming PC within 1500 USD (30-31K MXN) to use for the next 3-4 years. Primarily to be used for gaming, I would also use it for software development (But I mostly do lambdas, so not an issue). The monitors I have been looking at are FHD and QHD. The problem is that unlike India or the US, a lot of the hardware is not available in Mexico, or is prohibitive more expensive.

CPU

I agree with the 3700X. I should have researched better. I am switching over.

AIO

The 360mm I chose keeping the 3-4 years in mind. However, after a bit research, I could only find 80 USD ones. Some examples:

RAM

Again, I was keeping the requirements of the next 3-4 years in mind. Besides buying a set of 2 is cheaper than buying to individual 2 cards. Also, from what I remember from my last build 5 years ago, two enable dual-mode.

SSD

I was only planning to use the M2 for OS and native apps. The games would be running from another older non-M2 SSD. Initially I am using an older version, but I will add another new one later on.

Cabinet

Thanks for the tips. My previous rig was Masterbox Lite, and the airflow was crap and the pre-installed fans were average, at best. But, I am open to suggestions. I can find all the 4 models, all within my overall budget. It would be great if you could maybe rank them value-wise.

GPU

This is the crappiest part of my build in Mexico. One option is I ship stuff from the US, that add a lot of shipping costs, days to deliver, and the uncertainty of customs clearance. The other option is going for markedly more expensive stuff available at online retail here. I am literally stumped. I just saw a few budget reviews, and chose TUF.

Gamers Nexus does a ton of case reviews

2 16GB sticks is a bit easier to overclock anyways if you really want 32GBs of RAM.

For a long term build an air cooler would be a better choice so there's no chance of failure. Like a Dark Rock Pro 4 or a Noctua D14/D15. Don't want too cheap of an AIO.

How far from a US microcenter are you lol, coulda always drive up or something maybe, there's one in LA.

A long long way. I found a 60 USD cooler, from Eagle Warrior. Seems like DeepCool-ish quality. Also, switched over to Fractal Focus G.
