My drivers are all up to date, i could try the bios as i have not updated it since i got the machine. My refresh rate is 60 i did check that to see if it was correct. The reason i wasn't suspecting cables was because it was both screens. The system is about 1.5 years old so ill try everything at stock with fresh bios and see if that works.

Maybe try wiping out your old GPU driver with DDU and then downloading and installing the graphics card driver from scratch again.

How to use DDU:

The last time I had lines across a screen (purple lines) it was because the display was dying for me though so that could be it.

Hello all first time poster, long time viewer,

My PC has started to show some intermittent horizontal lines on the screen. Only while watching videos or playing games, they appear if I move the mouse up and down in game or if the video does a similar movement. I have two screens on my setup and both screens show similar lines. I have tried 3D Mark and no lines appear on either screen with multiple tests, Also MSI Kombustor and again no lines appear. I have also tried to record the issue while in game and the recording is fine no lines present. They can also not be present during gaming but id say 60/70% of the time they are present, 2/3 lines taking up a small amount of the screen 1inch in height but cover the screen horizontally, they are not blocks or solid lines more blurred lines or the image itself is slightly misaligned. Thanks in advance.

My specs are:

  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Asus Prime B350-Plus
  • AMD Ryzen 5 Six Core 1600 3.60GHz (Oc to 3.8)
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 3072MB
  • Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz (running at 1064mhz)
  • 465GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB (boot drive)
  • 931GB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 (storage)
  • EVGA GQ 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply

I would try updating your graphics card driver and maybe even a bios update if that doesn't work. What refresh rate are you running at? Its less likely but it could be an issue with the cable or maybe the port on your graphics card. As far as your overclock goes, if you leave it at stock does the issue still occur? It's not uncommon for a cpu to slightly degrade over time, I know Jayztwocents mentioned that he often will have to step his overclocks down by a hundred mhz or so after a year or two of use

So its now cured!

I updated my Bios this didnt help but worth doing, I then used the DDU to re-install my drivers this resolved the issue. It was so simple. Thanks alot stateofpsychosis & AdvancedMicroDisapointment
