Hello friends, 

 

I'm trying to find some small upgrades to make to my system to try and get a little bit better performance, but I think I have hit the wall of having to basically rebuild if I want to push any farther. any help or ideas will be appreciated 

 

SPECS-

ASRock X99 Extreme4 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

CORSAIR Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 GAMING iCX, 08G-P4-6686-KR, 8GB GDDR5X

Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W 

CORSAIR CX Series CX600 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12

LG 32GK650G-B 32" QHD 2560x1440 Gaming Monitor, 144Hz (running at 165Hz)

Yeah, in terms of CPU you won't be seeing the difference by getting any 6th gen HEDT CPUs. You can go up to 10 cores, albeit with an extreme price tag, so it's hardly worth it. I suggest, if you need more CPU performance, you consider Ryzen.

 

As for graphics card, just toss a 2080 ti in this thing and call it a day. Although

The old green label CX units aren't so great, being based on a much older and obsolete platform. You should also consider an upgrade here too, and check out our PSU tier list by clicking the PSU in my signature below

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
