For a while - Months that is, I've had a real irksome sound coming from at least one if not both speakers of my PC. They are Logitech, two speakers and a third thing that can fit an iPod. Recorded a youtube vid (shown below), this sound happens regardless of what I'm playing -- youtube or music.  If you can't hear it, it sounds (to me) like crackling and or static (I guess). Perhaps turn your own speakers louder.

They should be going into the back of the computer via some (analog?) cable. I'll eventually have a monitor with Displayport/HDMI.   Some of the time the crackling (and or static, if it's either sound) Doesn't happen.

I'm going to take a guess that they are plugged into to back IO. If its crackling and static it could mean that either A: your cable is bad. B: your connectors are bad. or C:your speakers are bad. Crackling and static are normal caused by stray signals going to/from the speakers, and/or feedback from the speakers. I would suggest trying a different set of speakers and seeing if the sound stops. If it doesn't then try different cables (unless they are built into the speakers). But if it stays at that point it could be a faulty connector on your motherboard and at that point i would get a simple audio card.
