im looking for a new turntable and some speakers to go with it. I dont want to be going over £250 for the set. can anyone give me some recomendations?

im also quite happy to go for a soundbar over dedicated speakers.

I would take a look at pair of powered speakers, and a TT with a built in pre-amp. Such as this bundle, it has everything you need, a TT, Cartridge, Speakers, and a built in pre-amp.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

I good vinyl setup costs more than that unfortunately! It’s like:

200+ euros for an amp with phono built-in

150+ euros for a decent Project record player

and 150+ euros for a good set for speakers.

So 500 euros overall if bought new. You’ll have to get some amazing used deals to reach your price point. And that’s entirely possible.
