Out of those two, the 760 will probably thrash the 750ti preformance wise.

true, but price to performance, i think it may take the crown off the 650ti boost. also watts/jiggahertz of speed will be tremendous.

i mean 960 CUDA cores on one 6pin...

a year ago i rocked a 250 with 192 CUDA cores on one 6pin....

remember it is suppose to be about 15% slower than the 660 he probably wants the most performance for his dollar and i wouldnt get that if i could get a faster card for the same price.

yeah, i never said its the best option. and neither is the 660. really the 760 is his best shot. for 1080p its a superb card, and when OCd to 1.3GHz and 8000MHz on the memory, its a beast for the money

I would pick up a GTX 760 if it's within your price range. A GTX 580 would be good for the sub $200 price point.

What does the MSI one go for where you are?

I have a msi  270x in my spare rig and it's fantastic. Silent and cool also.

and the 760 is for $350 where i am from so that's why i didn't consider it as a option

ah fair enough. what about a 660ti?

otherwise go for the 270 and overclock it to the wall, it will perform better than a 270x stock

MSI GeForce GTX760 Twin Frozr 2GB/GDDR5 256bit

This card is extremely overclockable and performs very well in stock setting.  The link has it for $270, but if you shop around I have seen it as low as $240-$250.

Kepler & Fermi CUDA cores are entirely different, a Fermi CUDA core is roughly three times as large and three times as fast per clock as a Kepler CUDA core.

To answer the author's question ,the best performing $250 card is a GTX 760, for $50 more you can get an R9 280X which gives you significantly more performance & 3GB of video memory as compared to the 760's 2GB.

I know they are, but the final speeds are still rising very much since the amount of cores is getting bigger now. I just hope maxwell brings kepler strenght, in a smaller package with more cores
