Hello LTT

Me and my friend decided to start mining. we have a 7870 and a 5870.
We use cgminer and ypool.net as my pool.
But we can not get any decent kh/s we got 100kh/s when it ran best. that was on both cards. i think it was around 70kh/s on the 7870 and 30kh/s on the 5870.
What are we doing wrong. i can´t remember the exact numbers in the .bat file but i believe it was

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer --scrypt -o (myhost/pool) -u (username).(worker) -p x --thread-concurrency 7400 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2

When i turn up the intensity up over 18 the driver crashes
When i turn thread-concurrency up it results in lower kh/s

what am i doing wrong. i have been mining protoshares on my GTX 780 for about a week now and that was not nearly as hard to setup

We use cgminer v. 3.7.2

Best regards

Jakob

Don't use CGMiner.

Use SGMiner

Try switching -g 2 to -g 1. SGMiner uses the same settings as CGMiner, except you should remove the --scrypt as it is forced.

SGMiner is an updated version of CGMiner for Scrypt and GPU mining.

I cant even get SGminer to launch

With the same inputs

Try replacing

--thread-concurrency 7400

 with

-shaders 1280

Also,

setx gpu_use_sync_objects 1

might help

nope did not work

These to card does not work with me

Using the same modifications I suggested above, try -w 128. You could also muck about with the intensity a bit; try 11 and 18 and see what happens.

Going to try that tomorrow then.
