2 gpus

HardStroke

this is probably a stupid question but can i run 2 completely different gpu at the same time in the same machine?

for example: i have a gtx 650 2gb and i'm going to buy a gtx 1660 super gaming oc from gigabyte, can i run them both at the same time?

the super for 1 display and the 650 for another display

(i don't want to run 2 monitors on the super because i'll lose frames and i aint bout that loss of frame you feel me)

It doesnt matter if you are using Windows.  The secondary GPU is just used as an output device, anything displayed on its connected screens is rendered by the primary GPU.

so its the same as connecting both monitors to the super? (the primary gpu)

Technically, yes. You can use both gpus at the same time, but there's not really a practical reason to. You'll get worse framerates on the monitor you're using on the 650 because the gpus aren't working together like in sli or crossfire.

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x  | GPU: GTX 1070 FE | RAM: TridentZ 16GB 3200MHz | Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M | PSU: EVGA 650 B3 | STORAGE: Boot drive: Crucial MX500 1TB, Secondary drive: WD Blue 1TB hdd | CASE: Phanteks P350x | OS: Windows 10 | Monitor: Main: ASUS VP249QGR 144Hz, Secondary: Dell E2014h 1600x900

Yes, except with more overhead so it will be a bit slower.

You are better off using one of the ports on the 1660 for that.

Not as much as using another card.

With another card the 1660 is still drawing the 2nd monitor, but it is also copying that data over the PCIe bus.
