this is a forum post i made. some guy has a suggestion

Did Modern Warfare force a different version of DirectX or driver profiles to be used? Normally a game can dictate what is used for each, but there are times when this occurs and you end up with a driver setting or registry change that can impact settings of another game. Likewise, as mentioned above, the driver/override settings should be able to change from the desktop UI menu and can override/enhance the settings of games.

he doesn't know how to actually change it back though

does anyone know how to do it? my forum post is basically dead so im here

If "all your games suddenly are running with a really low LOD bias" then it means something changes. You reinstalled games, windows, drivers etc. and nothing help. So it's probably new gpu driver fault (maybe Windows update it itself). Install previous one and check then.

BTW. Do not reinstall everything because SOMETHING is wrong. If you don't know what is wrong, you only waste your time. Next time test new system / drivers / whatever on new/other drive. This will save your time when turns out that your sysem is ok and problem still exists.

should i test installing previous version of windows?

No, just previous version of gpu drivers and DISABLE automatic updating of drivers in Windows.

You may also want to spend some time to configure your system (instead of reinstalling). Turn off game mode or other game related settings. Disable 3rd party tools for gaming improvement (if you have any). Etc.

tried turning off game mode, and shutting down unnecessary background applications and it dosent seem to help

Well, since you reinstalled Windows and it doesn't help, it means something is wrong with your gpu. You may check it with win7 just to be 100% sure.
