Screen turns black

distelkralle

The screen turns black after I connect to the internet because win 10 automatically installs a driver. I re-installed win 10 but every time I connect to the internet, I get a blackscreen after 5 min. Restarting the pc results into a blackscreen after the windows logo disappears(when the login screen should show). Sound still works (I can hear win 10 noises). Im really helpless, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What GPU? Do you have GPU drivers installed yourself?

Intel HD 3000, with an i3 paired with 4gb ddr 3 RAM. Original OS was Win 7.  I didn't install anything myself, only the basic drivers were installed. Installing the newest HD 3000 driver from the Intel website results in a blackscreen too.

Seems like windows 10 is overwriting existing drivers.. If haven't done so, would suggest to try:

1 step: Disable automatic driver updates you can follow https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-automatic-driver-updates-windows-10

2 step: DDU existing drivers with a tool in safe mode https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

3 step: install Intel drivers

See if issue persists after that, btw with DDU you will not need to re-install windows, but make sure that windows automatic driver update is off for the time :) Hope this helps..
