I have run into the same issue with my mobo. You can purchase a Corsair Commander Pro and use the 2 digital rgb headers on board. You can also use the Lighting Node Pro included in rgb fans and strips.

This doesn't awnser my question as i am looking for a controller or way to use both 3 and 4 pin or rgb and argb.
