Shell - do you mean the outside of the PSU? I'm not sure where you can individual ones, or even if you can for that matter. It would also void your warranty as it would require unscrewing and removing the cover of your current PSU which immediately voids warranty on pretty much all PSUs.

I would advise against this! I'm sure there could be some built up electricity in there (don't quote me)

Either way I doubt you could pick one up. Just paint it! Or sell your current and save up

SET UP:

Xoxidr.com sales them and I'm not too worried about the warranty on a $20 psu

I really, strongly, urge against you buying a cheap power supply. It really does require you to spend a bit of money on it as it is the heart of your machine and can, very easily, cause irreversible damage to your other expensive components. What wattage are you looking at?

I would get a better quality psu like a SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W (modular/non modular version) before spending money in modding your psu casing.

im not planning on over clocking

Getting a better psu will make your computer last longer imo because I almost fried my motherboard because of a bad psu. How about the Corsair CX500 psu?

do ether of those company warranty the equipment its connected to if a problem happens due to pus failure?

I don't think they will warranty the equipment. You could contact the manufacturers to make sure but I am pretty sure they don't.
