Wireless headphones that have a base station of some sort?

So my grandfather wants a pair of headphones that's wireless but it still has to interface with a 3.5mm jack or an optical audio port. My first idea was a Bluetooth transceiver plugged into the audio jack but I kind of want to find a super brainless solution since he knows nothing about technology and kind of just wants things to work. I truly don't really know what to look for. I imagine it would be some sort of base station that I could keep plugged into the 3.5mm jack or optical audio port and then have the headphones wirelessly pair to that but idk. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
