iirc it's based on Debian so it's not that hard to use and basically all apps are supported.

First of all you should know that anything you do on the live image will be lost on reboot. If you want it to be permanent you need to install it locally or setup live permanence (the first being much less of a pain to do). Since you're clearly a complete beginner I'd recommend you start with a "normal" distribution like Ubuntu.
